Obituaries
Bertha (Klim) Saltanis died peacefully on Nov. 8, 2005. She was born in Brooklyn on Dec. 4, 1914 and spent all of her life in Great Neck. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage and her beautiful voice. She sang in the choir, was an avid gardener and devoted a lot of time to the Cancer Volunteers of America. She was the wife of the late Captain Paul J. Saltanis of Eastern Airlines. She is survived by two children, Paulette (Joseph) Silveri of Southampton and Paul (Patricia) Saltanis of Monroe, CT. She is also survived by her granddaughter Lucy (Dr. Carl) Paulino of Brooklyn; and four grandsons, Christopher King of Great Neck, Joseph and Francisco Silveri of Syosset and Peter Saltanis of Monroe, CT. She will be terribly missed by everyone. Arrangements were made by Fairchild Sons, Manhasset. A Funeral Mass was held on Nov. 12 at St. Aloysius Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
