Gussie Halem, 86, died on Oct. 6, 2005. Loving wife of Bernard Halem who predeceased her in 1996. Loving mother of Stephen Halem, Roberta Penchina and Richard Halem. Daughter of the late Ben Stern and Anna Fischader. She was a resident of Great Neck for more than 50 years. She was past president of B'nai B'rith of Great Neck and a local realtor for more than 30 years. The joy of her singing will resonate throught the ages. Her devotion and love of her children and their families will be missed. Seeing the joy and happiness when she was with her grand and great-grandchildren will be remembered. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be sent to either the City of Hope or B'nai B'rith of Great Neck.
