An event-record 96 golfers took part in the outing which raised nearly $90,000 to benefit CAPS.
"Long Island's schools asked us for a record 1,541 student programs during the last school year, and the proceeds of this event help us provide programs to schools at no charge," said Alane Fagin, executive director of CAPS. "We're grateful to all those who took part in our outing to support our efforts to keep every child safe from harm."
During the outing's dinner, Fagin paid tribute to John Davis. Davis, who died in July, was an esteemed member of CAPS' advisory board and was a driving force in the creation and growth of the outing. Fagin said that "John's friendship, generosity, vision and dedication to keeping children safe will be sorely missed."
