This issue of the Great Neck Record is dedicated to our late friend and colleague, Rena Kunis. Rena was a part of this newspaper for over 15 years, retiring well past her 80th birthday and then only because of illness. She was a wonderful writer, a welcome and tough critic for us all, a loyal friend and one tough lady! There was no one quite like her anywhere! Rena was genuine and she was eccentric in the extreme. But she added so much to this newspaper and we still do miss her.
For any of our readers who were fortunate to have had a "Rena interview," it's one you will always remember. If you ever called the Record and spoke to Rena, well you probably remember that offbeat conversation quite well. Once you met Rena, you never forgot her!
Please be sure to read our Page 3 story all about our Rena. We hope it will help you know her a little bit, because she was definitely worth getting to know. And please watch for a series of her poems that her family has so generously shared with us.
We will never forget Rena!
