Hispanic Community, North High Key Club and Santelli Nursery Join Forces
In a community that prides itself on its immaculately groomed lawns and gardens, one sees and hears from early spring to late fall the sound of mowers and blowers as the gardening crews do their work. While those sounds shatter the peace of a neighborhood, for the men who work with the heavy, noisy, equipment, the results are far worse because being so close to the loud machinery day after day can lead to permanent hearing loss. Hearing loss begins a spiral of other problems, social isolation and misunderstandings affecting family life and employment. Loss of hearing due to constant exposure to high decibel producing equipment is however, preventable.

At Last, The Fifth Beatle and Jewish to Boot
Since we last caught up with Seth Swirsky, two new babies have entered his life. Daisy, joyously welcomed, joins brothers, Luke and Julian and mother, Jody, in their LA home. The other baby has been a longer time in the making, almost all of Seth's life. Instant Pleasure, a newly released CD, was composed and sung by the multi-talented Mr. Swirsky who credits his parents, especially his mother, Joan, to whom he dedicates the recording, for his early passionate love for the Beatles and the supporting environment of Lakeville School for his first gig.

Town Breaks Ground on New Clubhouse for Harbor Links
North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Councilman Tom Dwyer, Councilman Tony D'Urso, Councilman Fred Pollack, Councilman Angelo Ferrara, Councilman Wayne Wink, and Receiver of Taxes Rocco Iannarelli were on hand to place the first shovel in the ground for the new clubhouse at the town's Harbor Links Golf Course. The building, which will be located on the west side of the present parking lot, will feature a 4,300 square foot banquet hall.

Tiger Schulman Karate School Champions
Students from the Tiger Schulmann's Karate Center in Great Neck brought their skill and determination to victory at the Challenge of Champions (C.O.C.} event at the Martial Arts Classic on Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5 at the RexPlex Sports Complex in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
