Great Neck Senior Center Celebrates 50 Years
This year the Great Neck Senior Center celebrates 50 wonderful years of service to the community! The gala celebration is set for Sunday, Oct. 24, at Melville Hall at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point. The evening honors Great Neck's nine mayors and the National Council of Jewish Women, the founders of the senior center.

Playing to Stay Young
When Len Grappleburg heard about the Long Island Senior Games, he was intrigued. After all, the previous year 688 seniors had turned out to cheer people like Jean Veneziano, who at age 95 bowls three times a week and has played in the games for the five years of its existence. The motto of the program is, "You don't stop playing because you get old. You get old because you stop playing."
