North Shore Hebrew High School Breaks Ground
When the North Shore Hebrew Academy High School broke ground at the northwest corner of Community Drive and the North Service Road for its new home, many people expressed concern at the visual impact of the loss of trees on the site. Contested Old Village Trustee Election June 15
Although three villages on the Great Neck peninsula will hold elections on Tuesday, June 15, only the election for two trustee spots in the Village of Great Neck is contested. The elections in Kings Point and in Lake Success are uncontested.

Yoni Ginor Wins World Championship in the Martial Art of Submission Grappling
On Sunday, April 18, Yoni Ginor, 14, and eighth grade honor roll student at Great Neck South Middle School, was awarded a Third degree Black Belt in karate. Yoni is one of only a handful of youths in the United States to attain this high level of proficiency at such a young age in mixed martial arts.

Sixth Annual Rex Lardner Tennis Tournament
The Great Neck Park District's sixth annual Rex Lardner Tennis Tournament will be held at Memorial Field on Sunday, June 27, at 9 a.m. (The rain date has yet to be determined.) There is no fee to enter and the registration deadline is June 23.
