Old Village Crafts Fair Coming May 2
Wow! Twenty-six years and still going strong! The Village of Great Neck's 26th Annual Street Fair/Crafts Fair is coming to town on Sunday, May 2. The fun in the Old Village starts at 11 a.m. and continues, all day, until 6 p.m. Just walk over to Middle Neck Road, all the way from Fairview Avenue to Hicks Lane, and enjoy the day.
A Vision for the Future: Results From Park District Survey
Eleven hundred households representing a cross-section of the community responded to the Great Neck Park District survey, which basically asked, "How are we doing and what do you want from the park district in the next five years?" The input from the public was intense; first, in focus groups that were open to the public, held in various locations, times and dates last summer. The ideas, needs and concerns expressed at these meetings were used to develop the survey, which was mailed to all park district households.
Great Neck North Gets Much Needed Win
The Great Neck North varsity lacrosse team came hyped and ready to play the Roslyn Bulldogs last week. North coming off a very tough lose to their cross-town rivals South, needed a win to possibly turn their season around. The players for the Blazers seemed like a whole new team. The intensity was overwhelming even before the game began. Chants of "hand work," "hustle" and "pride" echoed through every Blazer huddle. These things would lead to victory.
USMMA Tennis Cruises Past Mt. St. Vincent, 6-1
The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, playing for the first time in eight days Thursday afternoon, April 15, improved to 4-2 on the 2004 season by defeating visiting Skyline Conference opponent Mt. St. Vincent, 6-1.
