A $3.8 million Great Neck Park District bond devoted to infrastructure needs is now before the North Hempstead town board. Although the proposed bond issue was extensively reviewed at park district hearings and received much publicity in local newspapers, a large crowd turned up at the town board meeting on March 30, many claiming that a state mandated postcard for that night's hearing was their first word on the bond issue. The five-member board of zoning appeals (BZA) for the Village of Great Neck will continue deliberations at its May 6 meeting on whether to grant the application of developer Frank Lalazarian of Oxford Developers to build a 3-story rental apartment building on the northwest corner of Arrandale Avenue and Middle Neck Road, on a parcel that is a collection of lots that is currently zoned for business and single family dwellings.
