The Great Neck South Rebels defeated Division 75-49 on January 30, their 8th win without a defeat in conference play.

Josh Kent scored 11 of his team leading 13 points in the first half as the Rebels jumped to a 39-26 halftime lead. Michael Sudberg scored 8 points, all in the first half, and contributed seven assists. Jeff Weiland scored 12 points, seven of them in the first half, and scored the team's lone three-point basket of the game.

Rory Grady had another solid game at center, scoring 8 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. David Ha scored all six of his points in the third quarter as the Rebels put the game out of reach with a 20-14 third quarter to take a 59-40 lead at quarter's end.

Even the reserves had big games. Besides Weiland's 12 points, Randy Belfiore and Aaron Ward-Quick each scored six points, while Robert Kanefsky scored 4 points, a season high for him.

The Rebels further aided their cause with tenacious defense, forcing 16 Division turnovers.

The Rebels visit MacArthur on February 5, followed by a matinee home game against Jericho that could decide the winner of Conference A-1 on February 7.
