At this time of year to ease the burden of holiday shopper parking in the Village of Great Neck Plaza, Mayor Jean Celender, in partnership with the Great Neck Plaza Management Council, or village B.I.D. (Business Improvement District of the Plaza), announced that they will again continue their annual program for valet parking to assist the merchants. Arrangements have been made with Parking Systems Inc., a private professional valet service, to valet shopper's cars in the Plaza Centre Garage for a nominal fee of $1 for up to a maximum of four hours. Parkers utilizing this valet service must show proof of purchase indicating they shopped or used a service in the downtown. FULL STORY

The Great Neck Park District is offering a new program this year, a winter break sports camp, for juniors ages 6 and up. Over the winter break, the park district is offering a holiday sports camp that includes tennis instruction, games and match play at the Parkwood Indoor Tennis Center combined with ice skating lessons and free skate at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink.
