D'Urso Seeks Town Board Reelection
Town of North Hempstead Councilman Anthony D'Urso is seeking his fourth term on the town board. Now, though, instead of seeking an at-large seat, as was the case before the creation of councilmanic districts, Mr. D'Urso is seeking a specific seat, to represent the villages of Saddle Rock, Great Neck Estates, Great Neck Plaza, Russell Gardens, Lake Success, and the unincorporated areas on the Great Neck peninsula known as Saddle Rock Estates, Harbor Hills and University Gardens. His district will also include north New Hyde Park and a bit of the Herricks School District.

Litwin Boosts Hope for United States Men's 50 Tennis Team
Seeking to reclaim the cup that was won by Spain last year, the United States Tennis Association announced that Great Neck Tennis Professional Bob Litwin has been picked for the 2003 United States Men's 50 Tennis Team. The US will compete in this year's Fred Perry Cup international tennis competition in Bielefeld, Germany, Aug. 11-16. Litwin, in his third year on the team, has been selected as team captain. He was on the winning team in 2000 and is looking to help bring the cup back to the US when the team competes against some of the world's top men's tennis teams on the red clay in Germany. This prestigious cup determines the World Team Champions, similar to the Davis Cup.

Great Neck Golfer Wins in Florida
Fifteen-year-old Daniel Frankel scored a four over par 74 at The Boca Raton, FL "South Winds" Golf Course on July 15 to win the 17-year-old and under "Junior Invitational." Frankel is currently playing on the "Junior Players Tour" in Florida.
