Roundabout and Other Traffic Calming Coming to the Plaza
The Barstow Road traffic circle adjacent to the Wychwood Apartment building is about to undergo a major upgrading. Soon a new modern roundabout will be constructed to address traffic flow and pedestrian safety concerns and provide significant transportation and other improvements to this important area of the village.

Green Market Gets Red Light
Shoppers who look forward to fresh, locally grown produce in the summertime will continue to have to drive further out on the Island to buy ripe tomatoes, French garlic and sweet corn this season. The park district commissioners, who explored the idea of a small farmer's market that would have been conducted at the Village Green once a week during the summer, regretfully tabled the idea this season, but vowed to reopen the discussion and exploration in time for next summer.

Great Neck Games 2003, Special Olympics
It was a beautiful spring day on Saturday, May 17. Eighteen Great Neck Spirits Special Olympics athletes played an outstanding game of basketball at North High while we fondly remembered our dedicated coach, Joan Grunebaum. 2003 is the first annual basketball challenge without Joan - our friend and teacher, but the memory of Joan and her warm smile brightened the 8th Annual Great Neck Games Special Olympics of Long Island.
