25th Annual Old Village Crafts Fair May 4
Come to the fair! It will be ''big doings'' and a grand celebration as the Village of Great Neck celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Great Neck Crafts Fair on Sunday, May 4. For the second year, the Village of Great Neck, in association with the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce, will sponsor the now-famous fair. And, as ever, admission is free!

April 26 'Clean the Plaza' Day
Great Neck Plaza Mayor Jean Celender announced that Saturday, April 26, from 1 to 5 p.m., (rain date of the following Sunday, April 27) will be 'Clean the Plaza' Day in recognition of the 33rd annual observance of Earth Day (April 22 this year). Mayor Celender stated that her Village's Department of Public Works does an admirable job cleaning our streets and sidewalks, but the downtown area just accumulates a great deal of trash and litter daily, and we want to highlight the issue of properly discarding wastes and helping to maintain our environment. The Village has had programs to bring greater public awareness of this issue, such as its poster contest a few years ago called "Just Trash It," which encouraged people to discard waste in appropriate trash receptacles.

Cancer Center for Kids Fun Run
The Second Annual 5K Fun Walk/Run will be held on May 4, at the Jonathan Ielpi Firefighters Memorial Park on Grace Avenue. The Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital is honored to run this event in cooperation with the Village of Great Neck Plaza and the Great Neck Park District. Parking lot #2, the surface lot opposite Fredrick's, will be used for the annual "I Don't Have A Garage, Garage Sale," so for your convenience, there will be free parking available at the Plaza Garage in Gussack Plaza and the surface lot adjoining the Plaza Garage.
