On Saturday, Nov. 23, two Great Neck High School students were among six women fencers in the Long Island Division of the United States Fencing Association to qualify for the USFA Junior Olympics 17 and under division in foil. They are Lisa Schwartz, a member of the Great Neck North High School Girls Varsity Fencing team and 2001-2 Nassau County Champions, and Stephanie Shyu a member of the Great Neck South High School Girls Varsity Fencing team. The USFA Junior Olympics will take place in Colorado Springs, CO on Feb. 14 - 17, 2003.
