In response to merchant's request to ease the burden of holiday parking in the village, Mayor Jean Celender announced that she has made arrangements with Parking Systems, Inc. to valet shopper's cars in the Plaza Centre Garage for a nominal fee of $1 for up to a maximum of four hours.

The valet service began operation on Nov. 22 during the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for a month. Thereafter, we will extend valet parking from Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the holidays. We know how important these holiday sale days are to shoppers and merchants alike. We want to do all that we can to make parking easier and shopping less of a hassle. We will also be bagging the meters two days before Dec. 25, giving shoppers two hours of free parking on the street and four hours in the lots, for greater ease of holiday shopping.

We are expanding on our experiences of this valet program which was started in the past several years. Mayor Celender stated, "I'm confident that this action will increase access to safe, affordable and available shopper parking and ease the frustration of looking for spaces. During this hectic holiday season, the village wants to be proactive in assisting shoppers and merchants in maximizing its available parking."
