On August 10, the beloved spiritual leader of Temple Israel for more than 55 years and renowned Jewish leader and scholar, Rabbi Mordecai Waxman died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.

Rabbi Waxman is survived by three sons, Rabbi Jonathan Waxman of New Jersey, David and Hillel Waxman of Great Neck and their spouses, as well as five grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 13 at Temple Israel followed by burial at Beth Moses Cemetery.
