In the Village of Great Neck
The Village of Great Neck is set for a presentation of proposed plans for the village's East Shore Road corridor for the July 9 board of trustees meeting. A planner will make the presentation to the board. As well, the village has also hired a financial expert to do a financial feasibility study for proposed East Shore Road redevelopment and rezoning.

Twenty teachers retired this spring from the Great Neck School District. Some 76 additional teachers may opt to retire early before the coming school year.

Sportime Serves Tennis Luncheon of Champions
Celebrating a spectacular Spring season of indoor tennis, SPORTIME at Roslyn hosts their Sixth Annual Women's League Tennis Luncheon to honor Spring 2002 award winners and to thank all the dynamic members for their super sportsmanship. On Thursday, June 6, League Director Karen Marlib Palevsky coordinated a tantalizing tennis buffet, inviting hundreds of league members to delight in a day of round robins tennis on all nine har-tru clay courts. Between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. major leaguers mingled during doubles action with members from all 16 leagues.

Celebrity Team Challenge at North High
On Tuesday, June 18, football players, radio DJ's, musical performers, guests, and one red and yellow clown gathered at North High School's football field for the Ronald McDonald House Of Long Island's Celebrity Team Challenge. On June 8, their Eighth Annual Business Cares for Kids Sports Festival was held at Cantiague Park in Hicksville, where competitors rounded up their own teams and played basketball, volleyball, and softball for the cause. The winning softball team, LISD, enjoyed the grand prize of playing a game against an all-star team, composed of NY Jets football players and Women from the NY Power soccer team.
