Donors Sought in Bone Marrow Drives
On Sunday, Jan. 6, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., a bone marrow matching drive will be held at the Lake Success Village Hall, 15 Vanderbilt Drive, second floor. The purpose of the drive is to locate a marrow match that will save the life of Ruth Spector, a 41-year-old mother of three who has recently been diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia.

Gloria Linares, a Great Neck cosmetologist and athlete, carried the Olympic torch for the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Torch Relay at a ceremony at the Brooklyn Museum of Art on Dec. 23. The event was carried by Channel 4.
North High Track at State Cross Country Championships
South Senior Robbie Freeman and North Senior Ed Byrnes represented Nassau County in The New York State Cross Country Championships, which was held in Buffalo on Nov. 10.
