Dolores Reinhart, formerly of Great Neck, died on Oct. 21, 2001. Wife of Robert. Mother of Kathleen, John, Mary and the late Robert. Sister of Patricia Sweat, Dorothy Christmas, James and Larry Flynn. Arrangements were made by the Reginald Tuthill Funeral Home, Riverhead. Mass at St. John the Evangelist RC Church. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Samuel McNichol, Lt. Col. US Army Retired, of Great Neck, died on Nov. 4, 2001. Husband of the late Constance P. McNichol. Father of James G., William M., Samuel J., Margaret M. McNichol, Patricia A. Hugo, Joan McNally, Clare M. Curinga and Mary A. DelPonte. Brother of Lorraine Muller and William H. McNichol. Grandfather of 11. Arrangements were made by the Doyle B. Shaffer Funeral Home, Little Neck. Mass at St. Anastasia RC Church. Interment All Saints Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Great Neck Community Fund.

Captain Mark Taney Hawley Sr., a resident of Covington, LA, and a former shipping executive with International Shipholding Corporation and community activist, died on Nov. 4, 2001, in Houston of a massive heart attack. He was 50.

Born in Great Neck, he graduated from Maria Regina High School, attended St. Michael's College and graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy. He was the first in his class to achieve a masters license (unlimited tonnage) for ocean-going vessels. In addition to his maritime consulting he was a board member of Tchefuncta Club Estates and the USMMA. He was also a member of the Bienville Club, the Azalea Club and several Carnival organizations in New Orleans, and was active with the boy Scouts of America.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen Dienes Hawley; two sons, Mark T. Hawley Jr. and Jack Dienes Hawley; his mother, Janice Hawley-Kopf of Great Neck; three brothers, James Hawley Jr. of Dublin, VA, George S. Hawley of Harrison, NJ and Joseph S. Hawley of Westport, CT; two sisters, Joy Hawley of Lexington, KY, and Mary Eddy of Amherst, MA; and numerous friends and family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be sent to the St. Anselm Building Fund, PO Box 40, Madisonville, LA 70447.
