Clergy Association of Great Neck
The Clergy Association of Great Neck offers its annual Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving and Hope on Monday evening, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 855 Middle Neck Road (in the Old Village). This year's special service will honor local heroes and community service leaders, and funds raised will go to the families of the victims of Sept. 11.

Experts Exhaustive Reports to KP Board
While impassioned pleas on both sides have enlivened the continuing hearing on the Chabad of Great Neck application to the Village of Kings Point to construct a 70,000 square foot sanctuary, school and catering hall, the latest turn in the proceeding has taken a highly technical and dry tone. Environmental experts hired separately by the village and the residents who have formed The Peninsula Environmental Conservancy, LLC (TPEC) to oppose the project, testified on Nov. 7 raising numerous concerns about the veracity of the conclusions of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) prepared by the applicant that claims that the impact of the project will not be significant to the environment and to the health and safety of the surrounding community. Mayor Michael Kalnick and the board of trustees have directed that experts, representing the Chabad, must respond to the contentions raised before the board will close the hearing.
