Once again the United Community Fund of Great Neck and North New Hyde Park will sponsor its annual run. This, the 24th annual Long Island Gold Coast 5M/5K run, is slated for Sunday, Nov. 11, at 9 a.m. Prizes will go to the top three overall male and female winners in each race.

This year they will be using the Winning Time Chip timing system to provide the most accurate timing available in the industry.

An exciting new course has been designed, a course which eliminates many of the high traffic roads. Timing and results by The Big Finish, using the Winning Time Chip System. Results will be posted at www.thebigfinish.com

Registration is $18 and that deadline is for registration postmarked by Nov. 1. Registration on the day of the event is $20. Applications will be accepted on Race Day from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Each athlete must fill out a separate application. The fee is non-refundable or transferable.

All checks are to be made payable to "UCF." Mail applications along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope (to receive application confirmation and course map) to: Long Island Gold Coast Event Series, 30 Cumberland Avenue - Room 9, Great Neck, NY 11020.

In addition to awards given to the top three individual overall male and female (both 5M/5K), awards will also be given to the top three male and female in each category. Separate age categories for male and female are: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. There will be no duplications of awards.

Commemorative T-shirts given to all who are pre-registered. Although UCF cannot guarantee shirts for race day entrants, they will try to have enough shirts to cover the race day entrants.
