In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, in addition to our regular news and feature stories, the Great Neck Record has made every effort to devote as much of each issue as possible to stories, tributes, poems, and letters dedicated to the victims and heroes of our national tragedy.

However, so as not to intrude on any personal grief, we have chosen not to contact any victims' families; rather we have waited for friends and relatives to come to us with the stories. We continue to welcome any such stories or tributes for future issues. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Also, please be aware that some stories --- pictures and news of past events --- have been held in order to feature the Sept. 11 stories. We promise that all of our backlog of stories, photos, and picture pages will eventually be published. Please have patience.
