Honoring Our Heroes Plaza Street Festival This Sunday
The 17th Annual Great Neck Plaza Street Festival and Antique AutoFest, has been rescheduled to this Sunday, Sept. 30, in order to honor the National Day of Mourning. The rescheduling also allowed everyone the option of attending the Central Park rally on Sept. 23 for firefighters, police officers, and others who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

Schools Respond to Twin Towers Attack
The Great Neck Public Schools Sept. 24 board of education meeting began with the ''Pledge of Allegiance'' and a moment of silence for all those lost on Sept. 11, 2001. The board resolved to officially put the ''Pledge'' on the agenda for all future board of education meetings. The focus of the Sept. 24 meeting was reports on how each of the schools handled the recent terrorist attacks.

The Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center in East Hills announces that Great Neck resident, Shaina Pollack won a gold medal with the Sid Jacobson JCC Girls basketball team at this years 19th Annual Maccabi Games in Philadelphia, PA, Aug. 19-24. The girls basketball team brought home the gold medal for the third year in a row and a record third consecutive year that the team went undefeated,
