There is still time to make a reservation for the United Community Fund of Great Neck and North New Hyde Park annual dinner dance on Sunday, April 29, at the New Hyde Park Inn. Local community leaders Suzette Gross and Robert Wild are this year's honorees. The dinner dance, which is a major fund raiser for UCF, is being underwritten by the Lockheed Martin Corporation.

''This is a terrific community party,'' said UCF President Mina Aibel. The Ken James Orchestra will provide the music. And a wonderful silent auction will be featured once again. This year the silent auction items include an overnight stay and breakfast at The Inn at Great Neck; dinner for four at Morton's; a gift basket from Aromatherapy; a ladies handbag from Jeanne Terres; a Romero Britto print; a USTA commemorative book; dinner at Tabla Restaurant; and dinner at Dolphin's Restaurant.

Ms. Aibel invites all members of the community to attend. ''We raise money for our agencies and show our honorees how much we value their contributions,'' she stated. Ms. Aibel and UCF Executive Director Michael Larkin are proud of this year's honorees. Mr. Larkin added his praise, stating that both honorees ''have championed causes which make Great Neck a better place to live and work.''

Mr. Wild, a managing partner in the local law firm of Garfunkel, Wild & Travis, has been a generous supporter of UCF over the years. As well, he has served on the professional advisory board of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County. He became active in UCF after running in the 5-Mile Run and then becoming a ''proud sponsor.''

Ms. Gross, the immediate past president of the UCF agency COPAY, has long been active in the community. After retiring from teaching English as a second language to children of Hispanic backgrounds, she became a volunteer at COPAY, tutoring children and adults. For Ms. Gross, it is ''a privilege'' to be a part of this community and contribute to ''organizations like UCF and COPAY.''

The agencies supported by the United Community Fund of Great Neck and North New Hyde Park are: CLASP, Coalition Against Domestic Violence, COPAY, Manhasset-Great Neck EOC, Girl Scouts, Great Neck Senior Center, Great Neck Student Aid Fund, Great Neck Visiting Nurse Association, North Shore Child and Family Guidance Association, North Shore University Hospital, The Salvation Army, Sara's Center, The Rehabilitation Institute, and Womanspace.

Reservations are open to the public at $125 per person. For further information, or to reserve your place, call the UCF office at 482-8101.

Be there, for the United Community Fund of Great Neck and North New Hyde Park annual dinner dance on Sunday, April 29, at the New Hyde Park Inn!
