DiNapoli Returned by Strong Mandate
New York State Assemblyman Thomas DiNapoli was handily returned to his sixteenth assembly district seat with 70 percent of the vote. ''Personally, these were the best numbers I've ever had,'' said the assemblyman, as he noted that it was also ''a good night for Nassau County Democrats.'' Mr. DiNapoli, who serves as chair of the county's Democratic Party, is now looking toward the future, a future that might include a run for the county executive seat next year.

Kings Point Soccer posts First-ever win in NCAA Competition for the Academy
Kings Point soccer concluded their season last week after a mildly successful run in the NCAA Tournament. On Wednesday, United States Merchant Marine Academy men's soccer team defeated York, 2-0, after harassing the Cardinal defense with tremendous pressure and overworking the York net minder. The Mariners outshot the Cardinals, 42-6, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The victory was the Academy's first-ever win in the NCAA Tournament in any team sport in eight tries.
