Park District 2001 Budget Sees No Tax Increase
There will be no park district tax rate increase for the upcoming 2001 budget. The Great Neck Park District's board of commissioners approved a $7,489,548 budget at the Oct. 4 public hearing. The next step is a hearing before the board of the Town of North Hempstead (a date will be announced) for final approval.

UCF's Annual 5 Mile/5K Run Set for November 12
A Great Neck tradition for 23 years, UCF's 5-Mile run, set for Nov. 12 at the USMMA, brings together members of the Great Neck Community, as well as running enthusiasts from the entire Tri-State area, for a morning of fun and competition. It also helps the Great Neck community by raising needed moneys for UCF's 14-member agencies.

Blazer Gridman Win First Three Games
He fabulous play of the Great Neck North Blazer football team in the early games has brought a renewed spirit and local fan support sadly lacking in recent years when results on the field were less than glowing. This squad has started off with a 3-0 record, a feat accomplished just twice previously since 1972 (that time finished 5-3) and the undefeated 1989 squad of 7-0 while the standout 8-0-1 aggregate of 1975 opened with a 0-0 tie.
