Tom DiNapoli: Making a Difference
''The ability to make a difference ... that was my main purpose,'' said Assemblyman Thomas DiNapoli, as he explained why he became involved in public service. Meeting with a group of local editors at the Anton Community Newspapers office, the assemblyman spoke of ''trying to make a difference'' both in Albany and locally, as assemblyman and as head of the Nassau County Democrats. He is currently running for re-election to his 16th Assembly District seat.

Old Village Subdivision Proposals Draw Large Crowd
A large crowd of residents filled the room as the Village of Great Neck's planning board considered six subdivision applications last Thursday evening, Sept. 21. Although members of the board, and the board's attorney, all tried to explain that the planning board's power is limited by law, angry, frustrated residents implored the board to put an end to the destruction of their neighborhoods.
