  • NEWS: School Board Elects Officers

    As Board of Education President Judi Bosworth was sworn in for another year as board president at the July 10 organizational meeting, reelected trustee Barbara Berkowitz was sworn in for her first term as board vice president. Nineteen year board of education trustee Lawrence Gross, who has served as president and as vice president over the years, stepped down from his most recent vice president post. First-year Head Coach Bill Lange wanted this of his team prior to the 1999-2000 season, and that is exactly what he received. The Mariners posted their fifth consecutive winning season with a 17-11 ledger and advanced to post-season play for the fourth consecutive year. Kings Point, who was picked to finish fourth in the Skyline Conference in the preseason coaches poll, defied all odds and won their third straight regular-season title finishing 13-4. The team capped off an exciting year by earning the #6 seed in the ECAC Division III Metro NY/NJ Championships. FULL STORY

    Shelter Rock Tennis Club will once again host the annual tennis tournament held to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute. The third annual North Shore Sweethearts Tennis Tournament has been scheduled this year for the week of July 23 to July 30, under the sponsorship of D'Amato & Lynch and founding sponsor Marvin & Sons Jewelers.
