Just in case you have not noticed, there is a lot of excitement going on at the Great Neck United Community Fund these days! The UCF calendar is just chock full of wonderful events coming up. Just as there is a UCF agency to assist with every community need, there is a UCF event suited to each member of the community. Take a look! Sign up for the special event that has your name on it!
First, there is the annual UCF dinner dance this Sunday evening, May 7, at Leonard's of Great Neck. This year the dinner dance honors Michael Lobel and United States Merchant Marine Academy Superintendent Rear Admiral Joseph D. Stewart. Each year the dinner dance gets better and better. Everyone really has a wonderful time!
The following week, Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, everyone can honor their mothers at a special Mother's Day Jazz Brunch, in support of UCF, at the Officers' Club at the Merchant Marine Academy. Wonderful food, good music, a lovely setting!
Then comes UCF's 13th annual Antiques and Collectibles Show and Sale in Great Neck Plaza on Sunday, June 4, with gates opening at 8 a.m. (The rain date is Sunday, June 11.)
Just a few weeks later, come Sunday, June 25, it is time once again for the UCF Triathlon. Athletes are encouraged to participate, and anyone can sign up to help out. The events take place early in the morning, leaving just about the whole day free for a leisurely Sunday!
And just in case we have not caught your attention yet, there is lots more to come. This summer UCF will once again sponsor its long-standing annual tennis tournament. There are all sorts of categories, to accommodate all ages and all levels of players. Come the fall, it is UCF Five-Mile Run time. Here, too, there is a choice of events to enter. Time and again, both events have proven highly successful and an awful lot of fun!
For further information, or to sign up for a UCF event, call the UCF office at 482-8101.
Have some fun while you help your community!
