Mona Fuchs Says
Clearly moved by the heartfelt tributes and standing ovation, Mona Fuchs, said her last goodbyes to the Great Neck school community at the Jan. 10 board of education meeting. With board president Judi Bosworth and board member, Barbara Berkowitz, both absent due to illnesses, Ms. Fuchs noted that it was rather "poetic" that she was sharing the last meeting with Larry Gross and Don Ashkenase since 17 years ago, the three had conferenced in her living room to discuss her potential run for the board. She drew a laugh when she remembered that both men had promised her that serving on the board of education would "not take much time."
