  • NEWS: Library Mailing Proxy Ballots to All Members

    At its Dec. 15 meeting, the Great Neck Library board of trustees voted five to one in favor of mailing unrequested ballots to the 36,000 names on its residency list. The action was proposed by Library Director Christine Salita in response to the library's receipt last month of more than 5,000 proxy requests, over 80 percent of which were computer-generated requests that require a name-by-name validation in the library membership database.     The Great Neck North Boys Soccer team under coach Jon Folber ended their season at 3-6-3. Their three wins came from Carle Place twice and North Shore. North tied North Shore, New Hyde Park and Plainedge. Last year North were Conference 4 champs. This year the Blazers were in Conference 3. Calhoun claimed the Conference title this year. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: Great Neck North Team Honored at Annual Soccer Awards Dinner

    The 1998 GNN varsity soccer team was awarded the prestigious sportsmanship award by coaches and officials during the 1998 Nassau County Soccer Awards dinner held at the Marriott Hotel Dec. 8. Coach Folber accepted the award on behalf of his entire team and expressed his deep feelings that the team's display of sportsmanship and fair play was recognized by officials as well as opposing coaches.
