  • NEWS: Police Nix Old Village One-Way Streets

    The proposed one-way street changes on North Road in the Village of Great Neck have been vetoed by police and county officials. Instead, in order to mitigate the traffic problems in the North Road/Ellard Avenue area of the Old Village, a new traffic control plan has been developed, and new traffic control devices will be used. Approved by a resolution at a Sept. 20 special meeting of the board of trustees, the new signage was slated to be put in place by Friday, Sept. 25. FULL STORY

    The Great Neck North boys soccer team under coach Jon Folber won their first game of the young season by defeating Carle Place 5-1 Friday, Sept. 25. The story of the game was a well balanced attack in which five different players scored. FULL STORY

  • SPORTS: North Shuts Out Clarke 3-0 in Field Hockey

    Great Neck North girls field hockey team, under coaches Cathy Behar and Joan Gruenbaum, defeated Clarke 3-0. Senior Diana Hochman opened the scoring with a goal about 20 minutes into the game. The goal was assisted by senior Stephanie Cohen. The Blazers erupted with two goals by Cohen within a seven-minute span. Both goals were assisted by Hochman.
