Dr. Smith was hired by the Grumman Aerospace Corporation in 1965, where he worked as an astrophysicist in the research department until his retirement in March 1998. Sadly, Hannah Nadler, a lifelong resident of Manhasset and Great Neck, died at her home on June 13.
Hannah Nadler's roots on the North Shore extend back to her father, Henry Lustgarten, who was a horticulturalist. He made his home and business growing flowers on what is now called the "Miracle Mile" in Manhasset. He was called the "King of Sweet Peas" in the flower business. Hannah was very proud of this heritage.
Hannah Nadler was a wonderfully gracious and sociable woman. She was vital, had a wonderful sense of humor and was well loved by her many friends. She worked for many years at North Shore Hospital as secretary to the director of nursing. She was involved in various volunteer activities over the years including the American Cancer Society, Hadassah, REAP, Mitzvah Group and Great Neck Senior Group.
Hannah's husband of 57 years, Murray Nadler, passed away in March 1997. Hannah is survived by her two daughters, Anne Nadler Grosser of Lenox, MA, and Henriet Nadler Cohen of Riverdale, NY; and her four grandchildren.
