The Great Neck North boys volleyball team under Coach Tim Nguyen defeated Mineola Friday, May 15 in three games 15-4, 15-9, 15-9. "We played a solid match with good play throughout," stated Coach Nguyen. The win gave the Blazers a 8-5 record with one game remaining. North will close out the season Monday, May 18 away against Westbury. North had defeated Westbury earlier in the season along with an earlier triumph against Mineola as well. Among North's other victories were to New Hyde Park, Valley Stream South, Valley Stream Central, and Malvern. North had losses to Sewanaka twice, JFK Bellmore, Valley Stream North and New Hyde Park.

North has one senior on the roster with Suffar Tobin who is playing in his first year. The juniors are Todd Abrahamson, Evan Weisbrot, John Woo, Rob Monge, Jeff Alter, Hal Burt, David Jhang, Jeff Khadavi and Rich Kwon. The sophomores are Matt Miles and Jason Amiriam. Junior Adam Holtzman is the manager. "The team has a chance to be strong next year with a returning starting line up," stated Coach Nguyen. "We have to work hard at practice if we hope to improve," continued Coach Nguyen.
