Alfred Emil Fiore, of Great Neck, died on April 12, 1998. Father of Donna, Richard and Andrea. Husband of Florence. Grandfather of five. Brother of Gloria Elbrecht and Roland Fiore. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Manhasset. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's RC Church.
Sylvia "Bea" Friedman died April 14, 1998 in her San Francisco home at the age of 85. She lived in Kensington for over 40 years before moving to San Francisco in 1990. She was predeceased by her husband Max and is survived by her two daughters, Judith Shapiro, wife of Mitchell Shapiro, and Annette Hess, wife of Steve Hess, both of San Francisco. Her grandchildren Lorelei MacDonald, wife of Robert MacDonald, Rebecca Hess and Peter Belsky, also survive her.
During her early life in NYC she appeared on Broadway in the Strinberg play The Bridal Crown and studied theater at the Stella Adler Studio. She performed with Dick Gregory in the movie Sweet Love, Bitter. For many years she was actively involved with with Great Neck Community Theater.
She graduated summa cum laude from Queens College at the age of 77. After moving to San Francisco she taught theater to seniors at the Recreation Center for the Handicapped. Her abiding love of the theater and devotion to her family was an inspiration to all who knew her. Donations in her memory can be made to LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, B.
