The Great Neck North Boys Indoor Track, under Coach Adam McKenzie, traveled to the County Championships. North scored two points. The 4x800 relay team of senior Mike Negari, junior Steve Raciti, sophomore Jason Berke and freshman Mike Yellin turned in a time of 9:24.8. North also ran the 4x400 relay team of Yellin, Raciti, junior David Jhang and sophomore Alex Roberts. Junior Ben Haghani qualified for the 55m hurdles, while Berke ran the 1,600m run,

At the Division Championships held at Farmingdale Jan. 22, North scored 18 points. Westbury won the division with 94 points. Ben Haghani placed third in the 55m hurdles in 9.9. His third-place finish earned him All-Division Honors. Berke placed fifth in the 1,600m in 5:04. The 4x800 relay placed third. The relay consisted of Berke, Yellin, Negari and senior Ronen Khordapour. The 4x400 relay team of Raciti, Jhang, Roberts and senior Andy Bassaly placed fourth. The 4x200 relay team of sophomore's John Schalit, Allen Garey, Haghani and Jeremy Friedel placed sixth. Sophomore Scott Abraham ran well in the 1,000. Sophomore Roy Hakimian and freshman Josh Gersman had personal best times in the 600 meters. Freshman Brian Weisburd, Leo Shalyo, Eric Wolf and John Stint ran well in the 300 meters.

North ran the 4x400 and 4x800 relay team in the Yale Invitation. Jhang, Raciti, Khordapour, Yellin, Berke and Negari were the North runners. Coach McKenzie was pleased with the team, but knows this team is young. North has a roster of 25. Seniors Negari, Vishal Singh, Allen Sun, Adam Bolour, Bassaly and Khordapour are graduating. Mike Negari and Steve Raciti were the captains. North's season ended at the County's.
