Traditionally, Thanksgiving is the time of year when we give thanks for all that we have. This year, the editors and staff of the Great Neck Record would like to give some long overdue thank you's to the people in the community who work so hard to make this the comprehensive, informative, entertaining publication that we are so proud to present each week.
Our editors and staff---Wendy Kreitzman, Avital Hahn, Raymond Iryami, Rena Kunis, and Betty Rosenzweig---could not possibly put together such a complete paper each week without the regular contributions from our school district (thank you Ronna Telsey, Jessica Vega, and Jason Martin), our park district (thank you Carol Rosenfeld), our library (thank you Muriel Turk), and our arts center (thank you Marc Katz).
Where would our sports pages be without the excellent coverage by Chris ''Omo'' Omeltchenko, Bill Fern, Meredith Krevitsky, Kim Robinson from the USMMA, and all the eager young athletes, coaches, and parents who share the news of all of the games and meets with all of us. And Coach Omo, it is you we all have to thank for a majority of the beautiful, exciting pictures that really make the sports pages of this newspaper.
And Ginny McMorrow with her continuous UCF coverage, Bonnie Graham who is always ready to lend her talents with yet another story, Julian Kane with his environmental record, and Martin Skrocki with news from the USMMA---we couldn't do it without you!
Our contributing poets and feature writers---David Golbert, Etram Delijani, Bob Ost, Wilma Askinas, and so many others---you really make this our own community newspaper.
Thanks very much to our churches and temples for their special efforts at keeping the community informed through the Great Neck Record. And a big thank you to Mallory Weber at Temple Emanuel---we can always count on your fine, very thorough, contributions.
Thank you, too, to the mayors and staffs at all of our villages. You help us keep track of the comings and goings at nine very busy municipalities. Carol Teplin and Laurie Squire at Great Neck Plaza make extra certain that we hear about every important event. And another thank you to Carol for her Chamber of Commerce stories. I'm sure our businesses would like to thank her too.
And in North Hempstead we have Michael Miller keeping us up-to-date; for state news we turn to Arlene Silberzweig from Tom DiNapoli's office; and, nationally, we keep abreast of our US Congressman Gary Ackerman with the generous help of his press secretary, Jordan Goldes.
And, of course, we could never forget our former editor, Bill Dobkin, who is always on the look-out for yet another lead, another interesting tidbit, another great photo opportunity for us.
We hope we haven't forgotten to mention anyone! There are so many who are so important to this paper. Together we make the Great Neck Record the newspaper that we can all enjoy.
We appreciate every lead you call in to us, every letter to the editor, every press release (no matter how small), each and every photo, every little bit of news about our neighbors. Thank you!
We all have our own part in our own Great Neck Record.
