Viewpoints on Pluralism in the Jewish Community. Lecture given by Rabbi Avi Shafran of Agudath Israel of American entitled The Perils of Pluralism: The Challenge to American Jewry. Rabbi Shafran is an author, editor, rebbe and presently director of public affairs for Agudath Israel. He will explore whether there are common goals or only irreconcilable differences on the religiously pluralistic American Jewish scene. He will assess whether the American model of Multiple Judaisms has yielded success, failure or a measure of both. He will pose the question whether our "oneness" still has meaning and he will explore the question of whether there are historical models for modern Jewish pluralism (e.g. Schools of Hillel and Shammai).
