(Ed. Note: The following letter was sent to the Board of Commissioners of the Great Neck Park District and is printed here at the writer's request.)
We were offended by the tone of your recent letter in the Great Neck Record responding to Murray Wallach's letter expressing concerns about the Marina.
Mr. Wallach is an active concerned Park District member. The dismissal of his remarks in a derogatory and sarcastic way was entirely inappropriate.
There has been much talk recently about civility in public affairs. Your letter was hardly an example of how to respond to an honest inquiry.
Everyone is in favor of participatory government in a democracy. Again, your response could discourage anyone from engaging in the affairs of the Park District.
