The seventh-grade girls’ volleyball team had a terrific season culminating in an away victory against Manhasset. The girls mastered the difficult skills of the bump (forearm pass), the set and the serve. Even more exciting was the way they played the whole court diving or sliding to get to a ball. Very few balls landed between players.
“As a coach, it was my pleasure to see how these girls pulled together and formed a cohesive unit who played together so well and made new friends within the team. They were ably led by the captains: Selena Guastella, Sara Testa, Dana Congero and Luz Machaca.”
They ended the season with an impressive record of 7 wins and 4 losses. They were a wonderful group of girls who made Glen Cove Schools very proud every time they set foot on the court. “I thoroughly enjoyed coaching them every day,” said their coach.
