Lacrosse players from Glen Cove High School did our district proud demonstrating their leadership skills to elementary students. “The look of curiosity and excitement emerged from the third-graders at Connolly when their older peers entered the room,” athletics director Dr. Scott Silverman told the Record Pilot. Throughout the morning the senior boys and girls lacrosse players spent time introducing the game of lacrosse. They also taught some skills and had discussions about what it takes to be a successful athlete. “I was amazed by the ease at which our students were able to connect with the younger students. In the afternoon, the players spent time at Landing School continuing their presentation,” Silverman added.
Many of Glen Cove’s players got their start at the Glen Cove City Lacrosse Program. (See information on the upcoming clinic in this issue.)
