Food Drive Started At SoccerFest

The Glen Cove Youth Bureau kicked off its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive at SoccerFest last weekend. SoccerFest families generously donated Thanksgiving staples to the annual drive.  Each year, the Youth Bureau provides Thanksgiving dinner to more than 100 families in Glen Cove.  The Youth Bureau will continue to collect donations through Nov. 22.

In addition to Thanksgiving staples, the Bureau also accepts cash donations and gift cards to local supermarkets, the proceeds of which are used to cover shortfalls and purchase meat for the families.  Frozen turkeys are also accepted during the week of Nov. 18.

Non-perishable donations may be brought to the Glen Cove Youth Bureau (128B Glen Street) or to the Glen Cove Public Library between now and Nov. 22.  If you are interested in making a cash donation, please make checks payable to “Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Board” and mail to Glen Cove Youth Bureau, c/o Thanksgiving Collection, 128B Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY  11542.  For more information, please contact Cindy Rogers at 516-671-4600 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
