Tom Suozzi, Kathleen Rice and Dave Gugerty - the candidate running for the County Legislator seat in district 18 - competed together in the 26th Annual Oyster Bay Triathlon on Saturday, Aug. 24. Gugerty participated as part of a co-ed relay team alongside District Attorney Kathleen Rice and Nassau County Executive candidate Tom Suozzi. The group called themselves the “Tri-Dem” team.
Gugerty started off the day by swimming a half mile in the 6th wave of the triathlon then passed it along to Suozzi who did the nine mile cycling portion, with Rice finishing the triathlon by running the 5k. The team finished in 1 hour 26 minutes and 33 seconds, landing them in 7th place for the co-ed relay out of 19 teams and 23rd overall for the day.
Dave is a lifelong resident of the North Shore and longtime resident of Bayville. He is currently the Chief of Staff to the Democratic Caucus at the Nassau County Legislature, and knows firsthand the abuses and mismanagement under Ed Mangano and the Republican Majority.
