College Bound Players

Three members of the Glen Cove High School Varsity Softball team have announced that they are college bound and will be showcasing their on-the-field talents at their school of selection next spring. Pitcher Carina Zupa, centerfielder Kayla Morrissey, and shortstop Brianna Leon will all be playing softball, with Carina receiving a full scholarship (academic and athletic) to Sacred Heart University. Kayla, who also received a scholarship, will attend Queens College while Brianna has her sights set on SUNY Purchase. Dressed in attire from their future schools, Kayla, Brianna, and Carina are seated left to right, as they are congratulated by (standing, L-R) guidance counselor Margie Tockman (for Carina and Kayla), Varsity Softball head coach Valerie Amilicia, Director of Physical Education, Athletics and Health Denise Kiernan, Varsity Softball assistant coach (and Carina’s mom) Angela Zupa, GCHS Principal Dr. Joseph Hinton and guidance counselor Jeannette Alomia (for Brianna).
