Dragons Place Second In Columbus Day Tournament

The Glen Cove JR Soccer BU9 Dragons team brought home second- place trophies from the Syosset Soccer Columbus Day Tournament over the weekend of Oct. 6. The Dragons won their first game of the tournament 1-0 against FC Bellmore Barcelona.

The goal was scored by third-grader Brandon Carmona. The second game of the tournament, the Dragons won again 3-0, against Oceanside Orange; all three goals were scored by third-grader Christian Yanes.

Unfortunately, the Dragons lost their last game of the tournament 1-0 against Commack Arsenal. It was a great accomplishment to finish second. Every single player was at the top of their game with sharp, quick passes, awesome offense and defense and above all, great teamwork.
