The Glen Cove Varsity Girls Lacrosse team entered the week with a 1 – 0 league record and ended the week with a 2 – 1 league record. The weather was cool and windy and the varsity team struggled to keep their momentum going against Herricks; they went into halftime ahead but the game got away from them in the second half and they lost 10-12.
Now they had to come back the next day on the road and play Great Neck North, but luckily the sun came out to warm them up and the girls fought every minute of the game. In the first half Glen Cove was down 4-8 but rallied to 7-8 at the half. The team as a whole stepped up their game in the second half going ahead 12-10 with four and a half minutes to go. The team went into their stall for the first time this season and was extremely successful, only losing possession once, but the defense was up to the challenge and turned their offense away. Every girl gave their all and the team should feel very proud of themselves.
