Pee Wee Cardinals Are Victorious Against Farmingdale Titans

The Glen Cove Pee Wee Cardinals hosted the Farmingdale Titans in their homecoming game, Sunday, Oct 9 at 9 a.m. at City Stadium. They were victorious with a score of 33-7.

The Cardinals started the game on defense, but quickly had a turnover on a Farmingdale fumble that was recovered by Cayden Burnett.

After a 10-yard run up the middle by Madison Patino, Jesse Barnes, Jr. ran 25 yards for a touchdown. The extra point attempt was no good.

Defense was tough once again with tackles by Thomas Poncet, Joseph Johnson, Madison Patino and David Berlin.

On their next drive, after a 5-yard gain by Richard Perez, quarterback, Jesse Barnes, Jr. pitched the ball to Joseph Johnson for a 45-yard touchdown. Perez scored the extra point.

With tough defense again by Cayden Burnett, Thomas Poncet, Josue Cruz, John D’Addario, Peter Liotta, Vincent Pascucci, Orazio Petito, Matteo Cameron, Christopher Gielbeda, James Lopez, Giovanni Calo, Ryan Evans, Joey Imbriano, Madison Patino, Jesse Barnes Jr, Savion Allen-Vega and tackles by Anthony Schettino, David Berlin and Joseph Johnson, Glen Cove quickly had the ball again.

After Peter Liotta ran for 5 yards up the middle, David Berlin caught a pass for a 30-yard gain. Following the long gain. Liotta scored on a run up the middle. Richard Perez again scored the extra point. This was the end of the half and the score was Glen Cove 20 and Farmingdale 0.

Since they were now up by 3 touchdowns, Farmingdale was able to take out four Glen Cove players. They chose Joseph Johnson, Jesse Barnes Jr, Madison Patino and Richard Perez.

Offense had the ball after the half and quickly scored again. After Josue Cruz ran 10 yards up the middle, David Berlin scored on a 35-yard run. The extra point was no good. Offense scored again after defense quickly got the ball back. After runs by Josue Cruz, Christopher Gielbeda and Orazio Petito, Cruz ran 25 yards for a touchdown. Christopher Gielbeda scored the extra point.

The scoring was made possible by the tough blocking by all. Vincent Pascucci, Dillon Fahey, Jah Tay Hernandez, Madison Patino, Josue Cruz, David Berlin, Richard Perez, Christian Maiorana, Joseph Johnson, Anthony Schettino, Giovanni Calo, Joey Imbriano, Justin Barwick, Ryan Evans and Robert Arena all played hard.

Just before the end of the game, Farmingale scored. The final was Glen Cove Cardinals 33, Farmingdale Titans 7.

The Cardinals next game is Sunday, Oct 16. They will be hosting Levittown for a 9:30 a.m. game.

The Cardinal Pee Wees want to express theirs thanks to the cheerleaders. They are always a wonderful addition to the games.
