In a losing cause for the Southridge Deli Bandits, Liam Bekerman and Luckash Dubicki had three hits while Joe Rizzo hurled well from the mound and Jose Lorenzo made a fine defensive play at second base. In a game with Deveau Jaxx, Anthony DiLeo had three hits, Luckash Dubicki led off the bottom of the second with a homer as Joey Cruz added two hits. Vinny Pedone had several defensive gems at short as Ronnie McDaniel was great behind the plate. Despite losing to the Anker Electric Bulls, Vincent Pedone hit a two-run homer in the top of the first as Anthony DiLeo hit an inside-the-park three run homer. Michael Hernandez made several great plays at first as Liam Berkman displayed defensive prowess at second.
Reds’ player Michael Guillen had one of the two hits for the Reds and the team’s lone RBI in a loss to the Cubs. Carlos Hidalgo fanned eight batters on the mound for the Reds. The Reds hit several long fly balls which were caught by Cubs outfielders to snuff out potential Reds rallys. Thomas Klemazewski had a great diving line drive catch at shortstop for the Reds to stop a Cubs rally with bases loaded and two outs in the fourth. The Reds did later win a 16-4 game versus the Orioles. Eight Reds hitters batted 2-for-2 as Tyler Greenfield added a two-run homer in the team’s win with the team pounding out 13 hits. Carlos Hidalgo hurled three innings, giving up only one hit, struck out six and walked only batsman.
In a game between the Tutor Time Mudhens and YMCA Sand Gnats, Lesly Villatoro and Nyleah Johnson were 4-for-4 as Emma Novikov was 3 for 4 (three RBI) and Ariana Rivera were 3-for-4. Skylar Brennan and Caroline Baptista added two hits for the Mudhens. The Mudhens then played the Ateco Bats as Jessica Ninesling, Caroline Baptista and Gianna Stanco were 5-for-5. Janaye Garcia was 4-for-4 along with Isabella Fuentes for the Mudhens. Fuentes and Baptista also made key defensive plays as well.
The Orioles defeated the Giants, 15-4 as Lucy Costello and Alyssa Schmitt singled apiece with Schmitt collecting four RBIs. Micaela Costello and Brianna Ambles hurled three shutout innings apiece as Amber Brown stole two bases. Defensive gems were made by Samantha Santos at second, Andrianna Gigliotti in the infield, Carina Gigliotti behind the plate, Christie Jantzen at first and Ashley Morace at third.
The Glen Cove K of C Padres beat the Grenville Baker Cardinals, 19-12, as Lindsay Payton and Alexandra Johanson had three hits apiece. Both Payton and Johanson also homered for the Padres with Johnson collecting a total of five RBI. Emily Edelman only allowed three hits and two earned runs in the game.
