I have rave revues for the work of Assemblyman Charles Lavine. In all my dealings with him I have found him to be an honest, forthright and perceptive strategist and advocate for his constituency. There are too many examples to report in a short letter. I will provide one recent example of his outstanding work. I went to the Albany Legislature, along with other library supporters, to speak up for our beloved Sea Cliff Library and other local libraries.
We went from office to office to talk to representatives and senators and their staff. Chuck Lavine was the only legislator who provided us with a clear and comprehensive picture of the severity of the budget shortfall, its contributing factors and excellent strategies to help the libraries in this period of severe economic distress. I was very proud he was my assemblyman and I sincerely hope Chuck Lavine stays in that position for many years to come.
